Who we are
moments is operated by Adi Dafni. For anything on this page, including a request to delete footage, write to hello@momentsreel.com or message +972 54 550 8836.
Whose data this covers
There are two groups, and they are not in the same position:
- The customer — the couple, family, venue, producer or videographer who asks us to process an event and gives us the footage.
- The people who appear in the footage — guests and attendees, who did not ask us for anything. Most of the care on this page is about them.
What we process
- The event footage supplied by the customer or their videographer.
- Biometric data derived from it — a numerical representation ("embedding") of each person's face and of their body appearance, which is what lets us tell one guest from another across hours of video, plus the frame positions where each person appears.
- Names and delivery details that the customer supplies for the people they want to surprise — a first name and a phone number or email address.
- Basic technical logs from the upload and review tools.
What we do with it
We use it to produce the reels and recaps for the people the customer names, and to deliver them. That is the purpose of the service.
Improving the system. We may also use footage, and the data derived from it, to improve how moments recognises people and groups them correctly — the part that decides two clips show the same guest. This is a separate purpose from making your films, so we ask for it separately. It is off unless the customer turns it on for their event, and saying no changes nothing about the films you receive.
We never sell your footage or the data derived from it, we never use it for another customer's event, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Legal basis, and the consent we rely on
Processing faces and body appearance in order to identify individuals is processing of biometric data. We rely on consent for it.
Improving the system, described above, is a second and separate purpose. It has its own consent, asked for on its own, and it is off by default. Refusing it has no effect on the service.
In practice the customer is the one in contact with their guests, so the customer is responsible for telling the people at their event that the footage will be processed this way, and for not asking us to make a reel for someone who has objected. We ask the customer to confirm this before we begin. Anyone who appears in footage we hold can contact us directly at the address above, and we will act on their request whatever the customer has said.
Publication
We do not publish any reel, recap, still image or piece of footage — on this website, on social media, or in any presentation — without the explicit permission of the people who appear in it. Permission is asked for specifically, it names where the material will appear, and it can be withdrawn at any time.
Who else sees it
Processing happens on our own machines, not on rented cloud infrastructure. Reels are delivered over WhatsApp or email, which means the message itself passes through that provider in the ordinary way. Nobody outside moments is given access to your footage.
How long we keep it
- Footage and derived data — kept while we are working on your event and for up to 90 days afterwards, so that reels can be re-made or corrected, then deleted.
- Finished reels — the copies delivered to each person are theirs to keep; we delete our own copies on the same schedule.
- Names and delivery details — deleted with the event.
You can ask us to delete everything sooner, and we will.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to the processing altogether. Write to the address above. We will respond within 30 days, and deletion is not conditional on explaining why.
If you are in Israel you may also complain to the Privacy Protection Authority. If you are in the EU or UK you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Security
Footage is held on encrypted storage under our control. Review links are unguessable and are shared only with the customer. Access is limited to the people working on your event.
Children
Events often include children. We do not build a reel for a child unless the customer confirms a parent or guardian has agreed, and we will delete a child's data immediately on a parent's request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how we handle footage we already hold, we will tell the customer for that event before the change applies.
